Five programmes – Smoothies, Hot Soups, Sauces & Spreads, Frozen Desserts and Rinse – automatically set the time and speed of the appliance according to the size of the whisking bowl, and stop the blender at the end of the programme.

Overview of the programmes for the 2 litre shaker:

Smoothies: making a fruit, green or protein smoothie in just 50 seconds
Frozen desserts: enjoy vanilla-chocolate or banana-strawberry ice cream in just 60 seconds. Use the pestle to push the ingredients towards the blades.
Sauces and spreads: a fresh pesto sauce or avocado spread will be ready in 60 seconds.
Hot soups: make a soup with the perfect consistency in 5:45 minutes.
Washing: just add water and dishwashing detergent and it will take just 35 seconds.
With these 5 programmes you can make an endless variety of dishes, for example with the Hot Soups programme you can also make delicious sauces, hot chocolate or ginger tea.
Manual operation

In addition to the above-mentioned programmes, the Vitamix ASCENT Series chopper also features a manual speed control and a pulsation function, allowing you to achieve the desired texture of your food. The ultra-powerful motor of the shredder makes it easy to shred grains, nuts, ice cream and frozen foods. For ice cream and thick dishes such as peanut butter or chickpea hummus, the Vitamix’s included beater will make the job much easier. Thanks to it, you won’t have to stop the chopper and scrape ingredients off the sides of the bowl.

Technological innovation: whisking vessel with SELF-DETECT technology

All ASCENT Series shakers are equipped with SELF-DETECT technology, which allows the appliance to “recognise” the vessel. In this way, the blender adapts the automatic programmes to the selected container capacity and does not start until the container is correctly placed on the motor unit. For example, selecting the Cocktail programme and placing a small capacity container in the appliance will result in a shorter run time and less power consumption. If you select the Soup programme, the appliance will only work with the lid on, as the hot steam needs to escape through the vents, which are located in the 2 litre container. If the selected programme is not suitable for the selected vessel, the chopper will not start. Thanks to this technological innovation, even a novice user can use the shredder safely and easily.

The new container
The new 2 litre Vitamix Ascent container has a translucent lid with a locking system that allows the A3500 to start working only when the lid is properly closed. Through the translucent lid, you can monitor the consistency of the food being cooked without interrupting the whisking process. If you wish to add additional ingredients during the grinding process, you can do so by opening the lid at the top of the lid.
Want to make baby puree, a glass of fruit smoothie or conveniently mince an onion? Then choose the additional 0,6 l or 0,225 l containers with grinding base. With these sturdy Tritan cookware containers, free from the health-harming Bisphenol A (BPA-free), you’ll be able to make even very small portions of food.
