Organic Japanese Ceremonial Matcha
This is the highest quality green tea powder that has been used in the Japanese traditional tea ceremony for almost a millennium. Ceremonial matcha is made from tea leaves grown in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight, thus encouraging the production of higher levels of chlorophyll. For the ceremonial matcha, only the best and softest tea leaves are plucked and ground to a bright green powder. This is the type of ceremonial matcha that meets the EU’s organic standards.
This ceremonial matcha comes from the Kagoshima region of Japan, which is the largest organic tea producing region.
Matcha is rich in antioxidants and it also has caffeine, but it is completely different from the caffeine in coffee. Our matcha Hisui has a very pleasant, aromatic and mild taste.
Unlike some other green tea powders made from leaves, including veins and stems, our matcha does not contain these bitter components.
The trace elements in matcha powder are said to help maintain healthy skin, normal iron metabolism, cellular protection against oxidative stress, normal blood pressure, red blood cell and haemoglobin function and more.
Ceremonial matcha tea preparation:
Place 1/2-1 teaspoon of matcha (1.5 g) in a cup or matcha bowl (the wide bottom of the bowl makes it easy and convenient to whisk the matcha in water and quickly extract the foam) and pour in up to 100 ml of hot water (80 °C). Whisk the matcha with a traditional matcha whisk until, in about 20 seconds, your bowl is filled with a perfect jade-green foam. Now you can add more water if you want your matcha to be less strong. You can add vegetable milk and sweeten to taste.
For best results, the whisk should be soaked in hot water before use.
