Organic Japanese Roasted Kukicha Green Tea is a delicious everyday tea made from aromatic tea sprigs picked a second or third time. It has a bright flavour and a mild umami aftertaste. The tastiest kukicha tea is obtained when brewed with water heated to around 75 °C.
Preparation
Use 1 teaspoon of kukicha tea in 250 ml of water. Prepare a cup in the traditional Japanese way by warming it with hot water. Place the tea sprigs in a sieve in a teapot and pour over water heated to 75-90 °C. Leave to steep for 1-2 minutes. For the second infusion, leave to steep for a further 30 seconds.
